Technical Machines are one of the most sought after items by most pokemon trainers.  A technical machine is simply a one-use device that, when administered to the proper pokemon, will allow a new technique to be used in battle.

     When chosing a technical machine for a pokemon, the trainer should pay special attention to the information enclosed in the packaging.  This is a list noting which pokemon are best suited to the technique.  Ignoring these instructions could result in illness or injury to the pokemon, detailed later in the report.

     A technical machine is enclosed in a mini diskette, which serves as protective packaging.  Opening it reveals the route of administration of the TM, which is by either by pre-filled syinge, or an oral tablet.  Most TMs come in both varieties for convenience in dispensing them to varied species.

     In either case, a compatible technique will result in almost immediate mastery.  This is perhaps the reason for the popularity of Technical Machines in the last few decades.  Techniques may by taught the old-fashioned way, but progress depends upon the individual.  A TM takes far less time, and is assmued less stressful for the pokemon.

     Incompatibility can be serious, but most symptoms of a non-ideal match are moderate fever, lethargy, and loss of appetite.  In rare cases, pokemon may have a serious reaction, including but not limited to: permanant paralysis, brain damage, and death.
